Location: Columbia, Missouri Shift: Weekend Nights, 3 12-hour shifts 1900-0730 Department: MU Health Care - Medical Specialty (Med Surg) Salary: $21.27/hour - $33.54/hour (final salary based on work experience) $2.50/hour nights $3/hour weekends Up to $10,000 in rewards paid over 5 years And $5,000 Relocation Incentive if you live greater than 50 miles from Columbia * OR* Eligible for a $5,000 Sign-On Bonus For a limited time, sign-on bonuses will be available to eligible candidates for this position on a first-come, first-serve basis. The unit sees patients who are ill and require acute care, serving a diverse population. The most frequent diagnosis types include pulmonary compromise, sepsis, GI disorders, diabetes, cellulitis, infectious diseases, mental status changes and substance withdrawal. Detailed Description * Interview patients to record their medical history. Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration. * Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures. * Observe, chart, monitor, report changes in patient conditions including reactions to medications and treatments. Verify that patient charts are update promptly and accurately. * Under the direction an dplan from an RN, manage patient care according to patient needs. Provide quality care to patients and work with he multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction. * Follow all safety, security, and infection control, policies and procedures. Perform all tasks to ensure the safety of self, patient and coworkers. * Maintain the standards of nursing care and departmental criteria to assure they are aligned with the MU Health Care Mission and Goals. * Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups. * Perform patient care duties and procedures following department policy, established protocol and standard of care, or directed by primary RN or Charge Nurse. * May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents. Required Qualifications Missouri Board of Nursing LPN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state LPN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state LPNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Preferred Qualifications Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
