East Central Regional Hospital is a state operated psychiatric facility with two campuses. The Augusta Campus is a psychiatric hospital that provides care to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. The Gracewood Campus is an ICF/IID and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) that provides care and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The nurses will be part of an inter-professional, psychiatric/mental health team that includes staff and advanced practice nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and direct care staff. Job Summary Under the direction of a professional registered nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled nursing services, monitors the physical health and safety of psychiatric patients and/or individuals with developmental disabilities, communicates with other health care practitioners regrading health status, collaborates with other staff regarding health care issues, and provides a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Responsibilities Responsibilities to include but not limited to: Work as a member of the health care team to meet overall needs of the individuals by implementing the plan of care developed by the interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides health care and treatments, such as treating decubiti, dressing wounds, giving enemas, performing catherizations, assisting with taking and monitoring weights, and administering tube feedings. Assists individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including positioning, transferring, and ambulation, as needed, Records and reports food and fluid intake and output when indicated. Assures that medications and treatment supplies are current and properly ordered, stored, and accounted for. Administers medications and completes treatment procedures according to current nursing standards. Measure and records vital signs as needed. Reports results as indicated by orders or based on findings. Observes individuals, charts, and reports changes in conditions, including anticipated and any adverse response to medications and/or treatments. Takes necessary action to ensure safety and positive outcomes. Maintains accurate medical records regrading medications, treatment, symptoms, and conditions including anticipated and adverse response to medications and/or treatments. Provides clinical oversight and direction to direct care staff related to health care needs. Required Qualifications Graduated from an accredited LPN program AND Current, active Licensure in good standing to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia. AND Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification. Preferred Qualifications Experience as an LPN in a long-term care or inpatient psychiatric setting. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to implement proper medications administration techniques and procedures. Ability to assist with health-related aspects of care. Ability to communicate information effectively to members of the health care team (oral, written, electronic). Ability to perform routine nursing procedures. Ability to maintain accurate medical records of symptoms, conditions, medications, treatments, and individuals' responses. Knowledge of computer databases and operating systems. Shift/Salary/Benefits * This is a Part Time position working up to 29.60 hours a week.* Shift: Days/Evenings/Nights (8 and 12 hour shifts available); Rotating Weekends. Pay Grade: 12 Salary Minimum: $24.00- $28.00 Hourly. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
