Job Description:

Reporting to the Company's Dispatch team, this position perform heavy construction equipment/materials hauling to include loading, securing and unloading equipment/materials to specified destinations such as construction sites and corporate yards.Duties including the following:Complies with all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE), roadside inpsections, internal audit procedure and all Safety/Driver guidelines,Routinely performs all pre and post-trip daily vehicle inspections and follows up on any related issues,Loads and unloads equipment and construction materials and supplies at appropriate destination ensuring that loads are properly and safely secured for transit.Secures heavy equipment/materials before and during transit following all Safety protocols.Prepares transfer reports with photos before hauling.Ensures complete understanding of route to be taken and discusses any issues with the load during Company JSA before proceeding to destination with supervision. Ensures sign-out at the end of the day on appropriate JSA. Drives truck to assigned destination applying knowledge of commercial vehicle driving regulations and adheres to the rules of the road.Maintains telephone contact with Supervisor(s) to receive timely delivery instructions following internal safety protocol for making and receiving phone calls.Maintains truck log according to all Local, State and Federal regulations.Follows the Company's process for reporting any accidents, incidents or injuries in a timely manner.Participates in any Company-wide or jobsite -specific training programs successfully.Qualifications for this job include the following:Must have Class A, CDL with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements in State of Louisiana or Louisiana license eligible.Must be able to maintain CDL by demonstrating a clean driving record and obtaining medical certification annually and as required.Must be an experienced Driver with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience and 2 - 3 years' experience in the construction or related industry.Must satisfy FMCSA regulation (§391.11) - general qualifications of drivers.Must be familiar with the Greater New Orleans area.Must be able to pass any applicable requirements for entering a Plant, such as participation in DISA program, criminal background check, etc. as required by our Client(s).Must interact professionally with company personnel and project owners.Must have good communication skills including verbal and written.Must have basic computer skills.Must commit to the company values.Must adhere to the Company's Safety program.Must adhere to DOT requirements to maintain CDL.Has ability to travel as required which may include out of town travel, work overtime and weekends as required (possibly overnight)Physical Demands / Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see (either naturally or with correction), speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle and feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds several times daily.
