Job Description:

The City of Green Bay Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking Truck Drivers to perform routine operation of all trucks in snow and ice control and various other public works activities. Ideal candidates will be self motivated and adaptable.  Don't have a Commercial Driver's License?  No problem!  We can train you! Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Hours may vary by position and season.  Summer Hours!!: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or Tuesday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Three day weekends during the summer!! At the City of Green Bay we strive to foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.  We welcome LGBTQ+, women, and minority candidates to apply.             * Operates all trucks in snow and ice control and various public works activities. * Operates other equipment and heavy equipment as qualified and as directed. * Reports all mechanical problems to Equipment Repair Section immediately. * Responsible for and performs daily maintenance on equipment, including refueling, greasing, washing, and minor repairs.  Makes changeovers on equipment as required. * Hauls snow from Parking Utility roofs and streets. Hauls material to public works projects. * Trains other employees as assigned. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Experience in related field desirable. * Valid Commercial Driver's License with Class A and Class N endorsements, or the ability to obtain within six months, and a good driving record. A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.   Ability to follow oral and written orders.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.  Knowledge and ability to drive various types of trucks.  Ability to work the required hours of the position.   Physical Requirements Ability to perform the following activities: * Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. * Lifting and carrying in excess of 50 pounds occasionally with assistance. * Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending and stooping. * Ability to reach and climb. * Ability to work in varied environmental conditions.
