To learn more about Berry, visit Responsibilities Perform various functions including receiving, delivering materials to/from production areas, shipping, scrap material moves, and misc. supply moves, using different types of lift trucks and attachments, in a safe and efficient manner. Operates company-leased/owned tractor trailer unit transporting dry resin, fabric, or supplies between rail siding, scales, plant, and truck lot. Perform all tasks in a safe manner. Comply with OSHA and Hazardous Material regulations pertaining to lift truck operation and material handling and observes plant and departmental safety rules and regulations Perform forklift inspections and report any issues. Responsible for battery maintenance, charging, and filling lift truck battery as needed Operate dock equipment (both manual and automatic) and correct or report any issue identified Knowledgeable of handling procedures for all materials to prevent accidents Responsible for warehouse housekeeping including equipment and floor cleanliness, aisle maintenance, and common area appearance Load / Unload trailers to receive material, and ship customer orders Verify, identify and inspect a wide variety of incoming materials, supplies, and finished goods from operations Pulls, stages and ships customer orders Responsible for various inventory transactions using barcode scanner and/or computer system Monitors First In - First Out inventory transactions Prepare and/or assemble required shipping documents. Able to prepare all required documentation in a legible and complete manner Troubleshoot any material problems including inventory discrepancies, freight damage, contamination, packaging or handling issues. Must report any variances in receiving, material moves to/from production, and shipping transactions Responsible for quality control - no damaged product shipped, no damaged raw materials accepted Participate in cycle counts as required Follows all procedures including but not limited to work instructions, standard operating procedures, material specifications, and job safety analysis Participate in department and plant meetings and all training as required Maintain qualifications for Class A CDL Operates tanker truck safely to load resin at rail site and offload into correct silo at plant as needeCheck for contaminated / wet resin as seal is opened on each pocket of a railcar (4x) Keep hoses off the ground and check for worn spots / holes that could potentially contaminate load Wear proper PPE to perform tasks while pumping resin Drive tanker safely between rail site and plant following all traffic laws while driving Weighs scrap trucks as needed Checks daily to see CDL is present and valid when driving Ensures the presence of current insurance card Checks trailer for proper loading so as to not overload on axle If under ICC, must have card at all times when driving Must be constantly aware of road conditions and observe safe driving habits and speed limits at all times Makes minor mechanical repairs, washes and keeps trucks in good working order Performs pre-trip inspections as required Fills out all DOT and FDOT transportation documents Switches trailers as required at all docks Must report all charges against license prior to the next scheduled work day Performs additional duties as assigned by supervision Qualifications Forklift certification and must maintain Class A CDL Responsibilities Perform various functions including receiving, delivering materials to/from production areas, shipping, scrap material moves, and misc. supply moves, using different types of lift trucks and attachments, in a safe and efficient manner.
