Join us in creating a sustainable future and becoming a protector of tomorrow! Covanta is seeking a dedicated individual who will work as a Loader Operator. S/he will operate front-end loaders, Skid Steer, Bobcats, Street Sweepers, forklifts and other heavy equipment to push waste into the tipping floor and refuse pit. This individual will separate and load non-processable materials from the tipping floor or refuse pit and load them into bulk boxes for further processing. This candidate will communicate with the Scalehouse and their Loader Operator co-worker to maintain steady flow of traffic on the Tipping floor and refuse receiving area. This will include providing Covanta hauling tickets to driver prior to leaving the scale house. Performing safety and operational inspections as well as small preventive maintenance procedures daily, including pressure cleaning of the equipment assigned to this position; completing PM sheets and work orders as required. Refuels equipment when required and replenishes fluids including pollution control and regeneration equipment. Reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to the HE Operations supervisor is a requirement. This individual should be knowledgeable of the safety procedures and pre-caution for working around tipping floors and large amounts of traffic. Familiar with hazardous material, safety and environmental policies as well as spill prevention measures. Familiar with GHS (MSDS) requirements for all material pertaining to heavy equipment operations. Position Requirements: High School graduate or general education degree (GED) Six months to one year related experience and/or training in similar situation. Experienced in operating heavy equipment such as front-end loader, and forklift with some mechanical competency.
