Plant Manager - Winnsboro, Texas SUMMARY Responsible for manufacturing, shipping, machine shop, tool & die, technicians, facilities, scheduling, and general oversight of facility. Directs, administers, and coordinates activities in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs the following duties personally or through subordinate managers: Reviews production orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing and machining activities to ensure production of products meets specifications. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Oversees repair and maintenance of building facilities, fixed assets, and grounds; and oversees the preventive maintenance program. Oversees tool and die department and machine shop and plans and implements modifications and improvements. Reviews engineering drawings for new product and proposed product changes for feasibility, scheduling, and cost. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Ensures adequate management development and provides for capable management succession. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities of all direct subordinates are defined, understood and adequately resourced. Ensures all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations. Actively champion six sigma and continuous improvement objectives. Interprets and adequately communicates company policies and goals to all workers. Ensures training programs are established and maintained at all levels. Establishes operating policies consistent with corporate broad policies and objectives and ensures their execution. Develops, enforces and monitors adequacy of safety rules and regulations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through: Completion of a Bachelor's Degree A minimum of seven to ten years of related manufacturing and management experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires proficiency in computer related programs, ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of senior managers, clients, and internal and external customers. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written diagram or schedule form.
