Under the direction of the Accounting Operations Manager, this position is responsible for supervising the daily activities and processes of the Payroll Department for PRS, its affiliates and managed companies. Emphasis is placed on implementing and enforcing Payroll Policies and Procedures based on the Employee Handbook and Human Resources Compensation Policies. This includes the promotion of operational efficiency and the responsibility to ensure that the accounting payroll transactions are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and adherence to internal control and other regulations.About Us:At our core, we develop, build, and operate communities filled with friendly neighbors, interesting activities, inspiring conversations, delicious food, and plenty of laughter. Also, work in collaboration with the HR department and accounting staff at remote communities. E Responsible for annual reviews of assigned Payroll Bookkeeping staff.E Train and supervise all Payroll staff, including manuals and signed training documentation.E Responsible for reviewing (bi-weekly) overtime reports. Ensure Payroll department does not work overtime unless approved. Sign off on review of this report file the report every two weeks. Also review and approve vacation, sick, and leave requests for payroll department.E Responsible for developing a staffing model for the Payroll departments that will ensure operating efficiency and accountability. This includes hiring/firing decisions, which will be reviewed with the Accounting Operations Manager and the Controller.E Assign special payroll projects and duties as needed.Payroll Processing:E Responsible for all areas of payroll in accordance with GAAP and other financial policies and procedures established by the organization.E Responsible for the daily activities related to payroll and the processing of the bi-weekly payroll for PRS Management Inc. employees. E Responsible for reconciling the deductions and requesting payments each bi-weekly pay for the 403b plans, 409 plans, Flex Spending accounts for PRS.E Responsible for importing vacation, sick, and birthday/float day accrual balances from ADP to e-Time.E Responsible for creating and entering bi-weekly ACH payroll Journal entries for PRS.E Responsible for Insurance benefit reconciliation, 403b reconciliation, and 403b match payments and journal entries.E Assist with the establishment and implementation of payroll policies and procedures as they relate to PRS, its affiliates and managed companies.E Assist accounting staff and PRS affiliates and managed companies with conversion, training and maintenance of payroll accounting computer systems.E Provide Payroll System Administration support to facilities and department personnel for E-Time and ADP.E Responsible for setting up new deduction codes, premium pay calculation, etc., in payroll system and e-Time for all companies.E Responsible for setting up special payroll runs as needed to accommodate deferred compensation plans, bonuses, end of year adjustments and administrative increases, etc.E Quarterly/Annual reconcilement of W-2s to Wage and Tax Registers and 941-s.E Responsible for ordering payroll check stock for PRS, its affiliates and managed companies.Reporting:E Provide special Payroll reports as needed for accounting staff and affiliates (pension reports, check view reports, vacation accrual reports, etc.).E Prepare monthly reports for US Department of Labor and Statistics for PRS.E Maintain Workers Compensation spreadsheets for Quarterly and Annual payments for PRS, its affiliates and managed companies. E Provide Holiday pay calculations and reports to PRS, its affiliates and managed companies.E Provide New Hire Report for PRS to Human Resources.Special Projects:E Assists with year-end financial audit schedules, as directed by the Controller, reconcile accounts, and collect information as requested by the auditors.E Work with Workers Compensation Auditors at plan year end for PRS, its affiliates and managed companies.E Responsible for special projects, such as payroll and etime implementations as assigned by the Accounting Operations Manager.N Responsible for special projects as assigned.
