This position is responsible to perform preventative maintenance and repair of equipment to keep the trucking fleet operating. Responsibilities: Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Ability to repair equipment on job site as required Rebuilds and maintains construction equipment (pavers, rollers, excavators, and bulldozers) Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on equipment Ability to purchase parts and supplies with attention to cost efficiency Tests equipment to ensure that it is working properly Willingness to work nights and weekends Changing and mounting of all tires on dump trucksOperates and inspects diesel trucks to diagnose problems and repairs neededDisassembles and overhauls internal combustion engines, pumps, pump power units, generators, transmissions, clutches and rear endsExamines parts for damage or excessive wearReplaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissionsTests overhauled diesel trucks to ensure operating efficiencyAbility to repair some equipment on the job site if necessaryPerform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
