Job Description

Develop projections under local statutory, Purchase GAAP and US GAAP accounting frameworks.Working closely with Corporate M&A department, to develop company valuations (including actuarial appraisals).Perform actuarial and related due diligence covering reserve adequacy, product and pricing evaluations, determination of appropriate assumptions, reinsurance programs, evaluation of existing models, actuarial appraisals, participation in Management meetings of buyers or sellers, review projections and transactions and company risk analysis.There will also be periodic special actuarial projects to support Company’s businesses, review certain market segments and review performance of recent transactions.Work with external actuarial consultants as needed for valuation and due diligence.For closed transactions, actively work with integration teams on actuarial and finance teams including key items such as Purchase GAAP implementation, integration of actuarial teams, systems, Transaction Service Agreements, etc.QualificationsSeasoned M&A actuary with minimum of five to ten years of transaction-related experience, including a significant amount of M&A transactions, preferably at a consulting firm, insurance company M&A departments or investment bank.Broad and detailed knowledge of various valuation methods for insurance companies, product pricing, modeling/projections and Purchase GAAP and statutory financial reporting frameworks across wide set of individual, Group, Accident and Health and pension products.Experience and knowledge of major global insurance markets in Asia and Latin America preferred.Dedication to completing work thoroughly and on time under time pressure.Strong financial modeling and reporting skills.Proven track record of being a strategic thinker, creative, innovative, and execution focused turning ideas into measurable meaningful results. Strong written and verbal communication skills.International Life Insurance product experience is strongly preferred.Extensive experience and success in collaboration, building relationships and influencing executive level leadership as well as securing broad organizational support across Business Partners, Corporate Functions (M&A department, Corporate Actuarial, Finance, Investments, ERM) and external advisors (consultants, Investment bankers). Bachelors Degree required and fully qualified actuary with FSA, FIA or related designation with 15+ years of experience required. Travel required within U.S. and Internationally (variable but up to 25%).
