Apply Today!Competitive Wages and Benefits:Family-friendly benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, and PrescriptionCompany paid disability and life insurancePaid vacation401(k) with Company matchEmployee meat purchase programRelocation is available.Responsibilities:Refrigeration Manager responsibilities include but are not limited:Manage the operation & maintenance of a large scale ammonia refrigeration system, boiler/steam generation system and plant utilities networkManage a supervisory and hourly staff of 18 team member and be responsible for a repair and maintenance budgetLead and manage significant capital reinvestment in refrigeration and boiler systems taking place at the Liberal Kansas facilityOverseeing that all employees are provided a safe work environment and that safety is a priority in the departmentMaintain turnover within the department, which requires good communication and employee-relation skills. Lastly, this position will be required to provide proper training, documentation, support and follow-up communication with end usersOther duties as assignedThis is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.Qualifications:Qualified candidates for the Refrigeration Manager should possess the following:5-10 years working with ammonia refrigeration systems5-10 years working with boilers and related equipmentKnowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) & Risk Management Planning (RMP) programs and complianceExperience managing supervisory and hourly staffAbility to teach, train and develop departmental staffExperience with maintenance planning & scheduling systemsAbility to troubleshoot the mechanical and electrical aspects of refrigeration and boiler systemsAbility to lead team of plant technicians and contractors to achieve timely installation of new projectsExcellent communication skills. Communication between engineering, operations and information technology to implement the best solution to achieve desired application resultsAbility to work unsupervisedAbility to work well with othersMust be willing to be on call 24/7Additional skills preferred but not required:Experience in the Meat packing industryFormal ammonia refrigeration training and certificationsExperience with Reverse Osmosis water treatment systemsFamiliar with Boiler and Cooling Tower chemical treatment programsHAZWoper training and field experienceFamiliar with IIAR bulletins and publications regarding ammonia refrigeration systemsExperience working with Corporate/Plant personnel in the design, development and implementation of new refrigeration and boiler projectsAbility to and experience in developing scopes of workAbility to and experience in developing project budgetsAbility to and experience in developing project schedulesAbility to identify energy usage and efficiency within the refrigeration and boiler areasAbility to and experience in the development of capital funding requestsApplicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.Company Overview:National Beef is a leader in producing fresh, chilled and further processed beef products for customers in the U.S. and worldwide.
