The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs. The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to streamline operations.This position requires the ability to travel internationally for training purposes (3 weeks in Germany within the first 4 months of employment, potentially). The ideal candidate will be open to immersing themselves in different cultures and working collaboratively with teams from around the world to gain a comprehensive understanding of our business and industry.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement automated systems and processes to optimize production efficiency and reduce costsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to streamline operationsDevelop and maintain control systems for automated equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to automated systems and equipmentParticipate in the development and implementation of new products and processesConduct regular maintenance and upgrades to automated systems and equipmentCreate and maintain documentation related to automation processes and systemsTrain and mentor other team members on automation processes and systemsQualifications8+ years of experience leading instrumentation, controls, and automation engineering efforts during construction and commissioning phases of a greenfield projectExperience with Siemens TIA Portal, WinCCExperience with OT/IT interface, OSI PI system and System VirtualizationExperience with cement, metal, chemical, or mining industriesExperience with server-client architecture Industrial communications such as Profinet, Modbus, OPC-UA etc.Experience with automation software and hardware systems, such as PLCs, HMIs, and SCADAExperience with OT/IT interface, OSI PI systemExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes**Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer, regardless of authorization or visa transfer**Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check to be eligible for hireWe are an equal opportunity employer that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce.
