Title: Packaging Equipment Project EngineerHire Type: Long-term contract, OnsiteLocation: North Chicago, ILTarget Pay Range: $60.00 - $70.00/hour (W2 with full employee benefits)Submit your CV and any additional required information after you have read this description by clicking on the application button.Overview:As a contract employee of Sterling, you are eligible to receive a Full Employee Benefits Package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, 3 medical plans to choose from, dental & vision plans, 401(k), and an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) plan.Job Summary:The Packaging Equipment Engineer is responsible for design, quality assurance, procurement, testing, and continous improvement projects involving pharmaceutical packaging equipment in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.Job Duties:Design and execute packaging equipment projects, from front-end planning to implementation.Develop innovative solutions for packaging lines, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.Hands-on troubleshooting and implementing equipment fixes to minimize downtime.Coordinate bidding processes for equipment procurement, considering cost-effectiveness and quality.Conduct debugging activities to ensure proper functioning and optimal performance of packaging equipment.Coordinate and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to validate equipment performance.Ensure packaging processes align with industry regulations, including GMP and FDA standards.Regularly assess packaging processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall packaging efficiency and effectiveness.Effectively communicate updates on packaging equipment status, improvements, and challenges to internal stakeholders.Additional related duties.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.Must have 2+ years of prior experience in packaging equipment design and project engineering.Proficiency in CAD software for equipment design and modeling.Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and other relevant industry standards.Proven ability to troubleshoot and implement equipment fixes effectively.Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate between engineering, purchasing, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.Familiarity with a variety of packaging formats (cartons, cases, oral solid doses, capsules, bottles, granules, etc.).Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identify, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
