Bionaut Labs At Bionaut Labs we develop miniature robots that navigate through biological fluids and tissue, enabling new treatment options for pediatric brain cancer patients that currently have a poor prognosis. We are growing our R&D team and are looking for a tenured control lead to develop our control algorithm to enable our novel magnetic propulsion system to accurately control our Bionaut miniature robot. You'll also mentor and guide other engineers while interfacing with cross-departmental team members.Apply fast, check the full description by scrolling below to find out the full requirements for this role.ResponsibilitiesLead control algorithms development to accurately and robustly propel an invasive Bionaut miniature robot to its desired location.Mentor and lead junior engineers while helping prioritize tasks effectivelyOptimize control algorithm to minimize energy use while meeting or exceeding control requirements.Define and conduct physical experiments and iteratively improve control algorithm based on experimental findings.Jointly work with a team of electrical, mechanical and control engineers to develop clear understanding of required coil properties/location/current to generate specific magnetic fields, using Python based simulation software.Provide input to potential design improvements on both hardware (coil-design, coil-locations, voltage level) and production software (filtering, control algorithms).Contribute to development of computer vision algorithms operating with medical imagery, optical imagery and other sources.Participate in developing research algorithm timeline/plan. Deliver on agreed-upon milestones. Assess and communicate project risks.QualificationsMust:MS in engineering (mechanical/electrical/robotics/computer science), math, or physics.Minimum of 7-10+ years work experience with control algorithms development to control vehicles/steerable mechanical objects, familiarity with Kalman filtering, etc.Extensive hands-on experimental experience, using sensors, DAQ, signal generators, controllers, etc.Strong Python programming skill.Highly collaborative.
