Job Description:We're looking for a Backend Engineer to own our product backend as part of a tight-knit, culture-first team in NYC.Want to make an application Make sure your CV is up to date, then read the following job specs carefully before applying.We're a well-funded stealth startup building prediction platforms, and experiencing more demand than we currently have the capacity to build for - including from international governments, large utility firms, enterprise institutions, & the NFL.This is an opportunity with a lot of growth & impact potential.Responsibilities:Own the Product Backend: You will be the owner and architect of the backend systems that power all of our products (currently one in market, with multiple others launching soon).Flex into the Frontend, Data Science, and/or Data Engineering Side: We're a lean team with no shortage of opportunity to make an impact, so prefer candidates who also show excitement to flex their responsibilities into supporting any mix of the frontend, data engineering, or data science side.As an early engineer, you'll have freedom and autonomy to work on the most impactful technical projects within our biggest areas of demand across the entire stack.Helpful Qualifications:Proficiency in Python & SQL.Experience with AWS.A solid grasp of architecture principles.The ability to move fast and write code that solves technical and business problems.The ability to take a broadly defined task and autonomously fill in the gaps without every detail being laid out for you.Willingness to work in-office in NYC a few times a week.Compensation:Total Compensation: $150k - $210k+Base Salary Range: $135k - $175k+.Benefits:100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage and moreUnlimited PTOParental leaveRelocation support1-3 team retreats / year
