Position SummaryAs a member of the Information Technology team, the Desktop Engineer will be responsible for the provisioning of equipment and software applications for Amundsen Davis attorneys and staff. This position supports the IT Infrastructure and Service Desk teams in processing technical support inquiries from attorneys & staff. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Infrastructure and will work closely with the entirety of our IT team to help in the day-to-day support, use and implementation of technology.Apply fast, check the full description by scrolling below to find out the full requirements for this role.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following are the key responsibilities of the Desktop Engineer:o Administer user account creation, changes, and de-provisioning in Active Directory as well as firm enterprise applications and platforms.o Configure hardware for new hires and replacement devices.o Active Directory management (account creation, groups, policies, etc.).o Manage and check internal assets to ensure correct inventory records.o Help with updating and creating documentation/reference materials/ training guides.o Perform assigned tasks to complete moderate to complex customer requests for configuration, testing and/or delivery of desktop software applications and standardized operating system components and patches to production desktops.o Work in conjunction with service desk and infrastructure teams to keep user desktop environment and to align software/hardware needs with the firm's long-term goals.o Support employees in the best use of IT services and resolve trouble tickets with an eye towards creating repeatable solutions for recurring or common issues.o Interface with software vendors to resolve desktop toolset issues of moderate to high complexity.o Participate as an active member of project teams as assigned.o Produce and maintain desktop standards, knowledge base, operating procedures, guidelines and system documentation.o Troubleshoot hardware and application configurations as it relates to endpoint performance and end user experience.o Build automation into daily processes to improve the ease of doing business.o Recommend and implement improvements to desktop architecture and design.o Keep the knowledge base and runbook for the team updated with new resolutions and processes appropriately.o Perform other duties as assigned.Education and Experienceo BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of studyo Minimum 5 years of experience in managing Windows desktop systems including, a minimum of 2 years' experience deploying software in a corporate environment and 2 years' experience with virtual desktop technologies (application, OS etc.)o CompTIA A+ certificationo Microsoft Windows Enterprise administration, configuration and troubleshooting - including but not limited to operating system, LAPS, BitLocker, and Windows Firewallo Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) administration, configuration, and troubleshooting experienceo Microsoft Azure administration, configuration, and troubleshooting experience - specifically but not limited to Entra ID, Licensing, Enterprise Applications, and Single Sign-On (SSO)o Microsoft 365 Enterprise Mobility and Security administration, configuration and troubleshooting - specifically but not limited to Intuneo Experience administering and configuring Microsoft Office suite of products and related components (e.g., add-ons, activation process, upgrades, versioning, 32- and 64-bit versions and differences), and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Window script / command language, Visual Basic)o Experience with Citrix virtual desktop environments. o Understanding of wired and wireless networking infrastructure and how the desktop environment is connected/affected.o Experience working in a legal/professional services environment beneficial.o Experience creating/managing Microsoft Active Directory GPOs is a plus.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe responsibilities listed below are representative, but not all inclusive of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform the essential duties of this position satisfactorily and successfully.
