The Controller is responsible for the preparation and analysis of the site's financial results and provides financial direction to the site and recommendations to improve site performance.This position reports to the Executive VP of FTG Circuits, and also supports FTG's Corporate Office in Toronto, Canada.Duties/Responsibilities:AccountingMonth-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Costing, Inventories, and general accountingImplement a standard cost system at the site, with guidance and support Assists in implementing and maintaining adequate internal controls throughout the operation, including compliance with FTG policies and proceduresOperational managementMonitor and maintain cash and working capital levelsFollow up on outstanding receivables, claims, and other customer issuesMonitor expenditure against plan and support department managers in understanding and controlling department costsPlanning, Analysis and ReportingPrepare monthly financial packages, analyze and present monthly financial results to site and corporate managementSupports the annual site financial planning processExternal Reporting Supports external financial reporting for a public company including rigorous analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results, and external audits.SystemsSupport the ERP implementation to completion, and ensure that various stakeholders have timely access to reliable data for decision supportQualifications/Skills:High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientationThis is a hands-on position supported by a nimble team, which requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic and analytical abilityAble to communicate and present effectively with staff, peers, local and corporate leadershipHigh level of initiative to identify weaknesses in processes, make recommendations and implement improvementsExperience with ERP implementation projects is a plusEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and a professional designationFinancial management experience (7+ years) in the manufacturing sector, including experience with costing of manufactured products
