Implement and maintain overall engineering standards, objectives and initiatives using schedules. Confront and solve performance/operational issues to improve product efficiency and reliability. Lead and develop the engineering team. Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. You will be capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises and leads engineering department Identifies and develops required engineering competencies required to achieve company objectivesHires, trains, and mentors other engineers and supporting staffWrites performance reviews, holds 1-2-1s and solves internal issuesConfers with Senior ManagementLeads & assists others in the analysis of engineering issues and develop viable, proactive solutions to problems in Engineering, Manufacturing and in the FieldCoordinate and direct projects including creating schedules and detailed plans to accomplish set goals to ensure timely and accurate completion of engineering projectsImplement engineering design standards and establishes criteria related to drafting, standards and general practicesOrganizes, plans, and executes projects & activities to meet customer or market needsEnsures the quality and technical accuracy of product engineering workReviews and is part of the approval process on new or modified product designsDrafts and/or reviews proposals and reports for customersContinuously improves business processes and practices related to the engineering functionEstablishes detailed plans and schedules to accomplish departmental objectivesManages budget and related expenses per department requirements within corporate guidelinesManages outsource engineering service providersAssures compliance with all Hine standards, policies, practices, etc. Maintains a clean safe work environmentSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Engineering department consisting of mechanical, electrical and software engineersQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline, and Minimum five years related experience, with minimum two years recent supervisory experienceMust possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, major credit card (for business travel), and passportSKILLS AND ABILITIES:Proven ability to lead and develop an engineering teamAbility to systematically solve and lead others in the solution of technical problemsAbility to communicate effectively: internally and externally, with co-workers, vendors and customers, as requiredAbility to compile and analyze technical data, write reports, and present technical information to various groupsProficient in CAD (Inventor preferred), and Microsoft Office software applicationsAbility to interpret technical journals and papers, and other related materialWorking knowledge of Design for Six Sigma principlesWorking knowledge of product technology is preferredSemiconductor equipmentVacuum equipmentRobotics
