Job Description:

Our client a leading provider of stampings and welded assemblies, is seeking a Welding Engineer to join their team. They work with a range of materials, including High Strength, Ultra High Strength, and Hot Stamp Steels, to deliver top-quality products to customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in resistant welding, FANUC robotics, OMRON PLC programming, project management, and leadership skills. The candidate should also possess a deep understanding of welding processes, preferably with experience in the automobile industry or similar industries. If you are motivated to drive continuous improvement and have experience in assembly production engineering, we want to hear from you.Do you have the right skills and experience for this role Read on to find out, and make your application.Job Responsibilities:Act as technical support for North American regional operations, including product launches, customer concerns, equipment purchases, and plant improvements.Lead investigations and implementation of new welding technologies within our plants, focusing on materials such as Hot Stamped Steel, Aluminum, and other emerging materials.Review and improve current welding practices and tools in alignment with safety, quality, cost, and productivity objectives.Establish and implement regional standardization activities for equipment, consumables, documentation, and practices.Conduct audits to ensure compliance with quality, documentation, and safety standards, providing assistance to plants as needed.Assist in the development of initial weld conditions to support product launches, addressing quality, safety, and production concerns.Evaluate part designs for weld practices and potential production issues.Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the plants to enhance welding practices and procedures.Develop and execute specific projects aimed at improving plant performance in welding-related areas such as safety and quality.Collaborate with management at all levels internally and externally to ensure alignment with organizational goals.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful resolution.Other responsibilities and requirements may be assigned as needed.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.Previous experience in resistant welding, robotics, PLC programming, and project management.Familiarity with automobile industry standards and practices.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Education:College graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred.Experience and Training Requirements:3-5 years of experience in a similar role.Project Management experience is desired.Direct experience with Japanese OEMs (Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Toyota, etc.) is preferred.Experience with different OEMs is a bonus.Industrial Engineering experience is preferred.Specialized Skills Desired:Resistant Welding Expertise: Extensive experience in resistant welding is crucial due to heavy reliance on this technique in our systems.FANUC Robotics Experience: Proficiency in FANUC robotics or similar systems is required.OMRON PLC Programming: Essential knowledge and experience in OMRON PLC programming and capabilities are necessary for this position.Leadership and Project Management: Strong leadership and project management skills are essential for effective collaboration with multiple locations and teams to achieve organizational goals.Automobile Industry Experience: Preferred experience in the automobile industry, or similar industries with comparable welding requirements, materials, and processes, will be considered.Technical Engineering Knowledge: Deep understanding of welding processes and technical engineering knowledge is required, with hands-on welding experience considered a bonus but not mandatory.If you are a highly motivated engineer with a passion for assembly production and meeting the challenges of a global industry, we encourage you to apply.
