Job Description:

The Director will be responsible for maintaining and continually developing Boyd Jones' Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) tools, workflows, standards, and team members. The Director is responsible for overall management of VDC department & projects and will help develop, implement, and manage VDC processes & personnel for Boyd Jones. The role will be responsible for providing VDC and Building Information Modeling (BIM) leadership and Construction Technology training and support. The ideal candidate will assist in the development of VDC-based innovation, initiatives, and processes and serve as the liaison between departments.Key Responsibilities:Read on to fully understand what this job requires in terms of skills and experience If you are a good match, make an application.Innovate and implement tools and workflows that provide increased automation of Boyd Jones' existing workflows and processes.Develop & train VDC team members as the company grows.Develop and improve BIM standards.Maintain familiarity with currently accepted standards and methods for construction in the building industry. Monitor trade related publications to identify emerging technologies that may impact how Boyd Jones delivers projects. Work with management to develop strategies to implement those technologies.Work to expand Boyd Jones' existing toolset of software and technology to improve efficiency during the design and construction phases of projects. Serve as point person to maintain devices/equipment that are utilized. Train staff in the use of new equipment.Collaborate with clients to develop project BIM execution plans and facilitate their implementation into projects.Create and periodically lead training sessions for the firm's staff to roll out new tools and workflows as they become available. Conduct orientations for new employees to familiarize them with the firm's standards.Represent the firm's VDC/BIM capabilities at client interviews.Advise senior management on the firm's long-term technology strategy.Manage the VDC department with all duties and responsibilities associated.We are seeking a talented and highly motivated B.S. candidate in Architecture, Engineering or Computer Science with an interest in building systems design. Self-motivated and able to work independently.Proficiency & understanding of Autodesk Products (Revit, AutoCAD, BIM, Navisworks, etc.).Experience with training and managing a BIM team.Have willingness to learn the company's business and industry.Ability to occasionally travel to other Boyd Jones sites to conduct training / orientations.Familiarity with processing & working with laser scans and point clouds a plus.Strong technical skills, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
