Systems Administrator II - Windows - Starting Salary Range (based on experience): $78,009.25 - $85,810.17Scroll down the page to see all associated job requirements, and any responsibilities successful candidates can expect.WORK OBJECTIVE:This is an advanced technical position responsible for high level technical resolutions and administrative maintenance. The candidate must be a subject mater expert with hands-on experience in Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Virtualization, Email Technologies, SANs and Backup software.This position is responsible for troubleshooting, installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware, operating systems, and applications in support of business requirements. Provides technical support during critical and non-critical business hours. Proactively identifies and automates the resolution to availability and performance issues throughout the environment.This role holds the responsibility of managing a diverse datacenter environment which includes both planning and implementing critical projects in support of a wide range of complex applications. This includes upgrades, maintenance and migrations and proactive monitoring of 24x7 mission critical systems.This position requires a high level of independent judgment, technical skill, organization and planning. Must possess a core set of troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge that can yield timely results without delay and successfully multi-task several assignments without loss of quality. A strong focus on documentation is essential to success at this position. Experience with an enterprise ticketing system and ticketing concepts is required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within the classification. Is proactive and reactive for problem alerting, analysis, resolution, and follow up to ensure platform stability.Deploys and configuring moderately complex server operating systems and applications in physical, virtual, and containerized compute environments to corporate and vendor standards.Performs moderately complex application and storage system upgrades (hardware/software) as well as periodic health checks in accordance with established corporate policies and procedures.Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining storage, replication and backups for all systems and ensuring data integrity.Monitor system operation to detect potential problems.Perform or consult on operating systems, network or application software, or computer or network hardwarePerform ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or softwareSolid ability to communicate effectively with both technical staff and end-users; by providing exceptional client service skills.Operate as an escalation point for Help Desk/NOC team and able to provide support and resolution for moderately complex trouble tickets.Supports cross-functional project teams to help deliver solutions as required.Creates and maintains technical reference documentation to be used in support and training of Information Technology (IT) personnel.Proactively identifies and automates the resolution to availability and performance failures throughout the environment.Proactively identifies work requests that can be automated via software automation and orchestration tools. Ensures that all working knowledge sets are properly documented and communicated.Responsible for coverage after normal working hours for non-standard processing situations, position vacancies, or when shifts in daily hours are warranted to improve coverage in peak or critical processing cycles. Due to the critical nature of the work, it will be necessary to provide "On-call" or "Call-back" services as deemed appropriate by the department.Responsible for maintaining lines of communication in regards to system availability, planned downtime, unexpected outages, and all related areas with all the Clerk of Courts staff operating on an automated basis in order to keep them apprised of changes to their operating system that might affect productivity and efficiency.Participates in planning, developing, and implementing security policies across multiple platformsEnsures compliance with IT security policies through ongoing monitoring and reportingPerforms system analysis and recommends system designs and enhancements to support both short and long term system and security planningSupervision:NoneMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's degree in information technology, or a related field, from an accredited college or universityFive (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Infrastructure/Systems administration in the field of server technologies which include:Technology or Software: Advanced administration of Microsoft Windows Server Operating SystemsAdvanced administration of Active DirectoryAdvanced experience with NetApp SANs or similar enterprise storage technologiesAdvanced administration of VMWare infrastructureAdvanced experience with Microsoft Exchange ServersAdvanced experience with Veeam or similar enterprise backup and replication technologiesLicenses/Certificates/Registrations: Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, or equivalent combination of certificationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, from an accredited college or universityMicrosoft Certified: MCSE: Core Infrastructure, VMware Certified: VCP/VCAPTechnology or Software: Advanced administration of Microsoft System Center (SCOM, SCCM)Advanced administration of Forcepoint Secure Web GatewayAdvanced administration of McAfee ePolicy OrchestratorAdvanced administration of VMware Carbon Black SolutionsAdvanced administration of Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, including cloud migration and disaster recoveryExperience with administering Microsoft SQL Server.Advanced PowerShell scriptingKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Advanced Administration of Virtual infrastructures in conjunction with SAN storage which includes Site Recovery Manager, Fault Tolerance, HA, and DRS. Must be proficient with the setup and configuration of virtual networking components.Advanced administration of SANs (with Clustering technologies) which includes coordination and implementation of storage system upgrades and patching strategies. Performs system capacity analysis and planning to ensure continuous operation and resource utilization optimization. Able to install, configure, and maintain storage, replication, snapshots and backups.In depth knowledge of SAN storage protocols such as NFS, iSCSI, nVME, Fiber Channel, Multi-pathing.Advanced administration of Backup and Replication technologies which includes configuring backup and replication jobs and performing system recovery.Advanced administration of Email Infrastructures which include configuration of fault tolerance, Database maintenance best practices, Migration of data to various datacenters and backup/restore configuration.Advanced administration of the Microsoft Systems Center Suite.Advanced administration of Windows operating systems.Advanced Web content filtering administration which includes performing upgrades, planning and implementation of diversified filtering policies.Advanced Administration/Knowledge of Active Directory which includes DFS, Group Policy, Replication and AD architecture.Experience with SIEM concepts and real-time monitoring tools to identify and address emerging security threats through the use of continuous monitoring, alerting and analytics.Experience with Enterprise or related Email Security and Protection Software.Experience with automation using Windows PowerShell.Experience with Enterprise Virus Scanning or related centralized security management software.
