This position will be responsible for effective, accurate, and efficient handling of all aspects of Financial Reporting.Essential Job FunctionsReporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance, the Director, Financial Reporting will be responsible for leading and completing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting, covenant compliance, mergers and acquisition accounting, and other accounting functions for PropioLead the financial reporting, accounting, and bookkeeping functions for the company to ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process across subsidiariesProduce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both internal and external stakeholders, with supporting documentation, variance analysis, and reconciliations, such that the accounting records are auditable at any timeManage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results across multiple entitiesLead the preparation of day-to-day and month end general journal entries, including complex payroll, cost of sales, and intra-entity entriesLead the timely closing of financial books by working cross-functionally with the Financial Operations team (A/R and A/P)Support for treasury and banking functions as neededReconciliation of all balance sheet accounts for multiple legal and operational entitiesEnsure accurate reporting of revenue based on each unique customer contract and in accordance with GAAPPrepare required lender covenant financial reportsOversee technical accounting related to M&A activities, including purchase accounting and accounting policy alignment considerationsDesign, document, and implement an internal control environment that ensures accurate transactional reportingEstablish and document policies and procedures that accelerate the timeliness and accuracy of the monthly accounting close process and protects the company from fraud risk, concentration of duties, and turnoverManage compliance with local and federal authorities with respect to financial reporting and tax mattersManage relationships with external auditors, coordinating audit processes, and ensuring a smooth and efficient audit cyclePromote a high-performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct reports through coaching, mentoring and by providing regular and meaningful feedbackSet clear, measurable goals for the Financial Reporting team and individualsQualificationsCPA and/or Master's in AccountingExpert knowledge U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworksMinimum of 6 years hands-on financial accounting, cost accounting, and financial statement preparation experience, including 2+ years in an accounting leadership capacityHands-on knowledge of NetSuite, SAP or Great Plains financial reporting software a plusPrior experience in public accounting a plusPrior experience working in a Private-Equity environment preferredAdvanced Excel SkillsExperience in financial consolidations of a multi-company corporate structureMust be comfortable working and leading in a multi-site and dispersed team environmentExperience ensuring financial processes and reporting standards comply with established company policies and proceduresTo be successful in our organization, you need an eager attitude, professionalism, and the confidence to willingly work to prove yourself and your ideas, and earn the trust of the organization
