Our principals take considerable pride in their approach to the firm's management, offering services like that of a large organization while demonstrating the personal client and consultant relationship of a small firm.As a key member of our Team, you will be expected to live our values - Individuality, Inclusion, Intuition, Invention, and Inspiration by representing the Naik brand through our exemplary leadership style and behaviors.Electrical Engineer Job DescriptionNAIK Consulting Group is hiring an Electrical Engineer with an opportunity to experience a varied array of projects which include large infrastructure, ground, underground, rail, and transit projects throughout the New York Area.This individual will function as a mid-level Electrical Engineer on projects, responsible for all aspects of electrical design, ranging from: field survey, calculations, computer aided drafting (CAD), equipment selection, coordination with trades, maintaining client standards and relations, and other fundamentals of engineering.ResponsibilitiesApplies knowledge of industry standards and electrical engineering design principlesApplies knowledge of electrical power design in support of a range of projects, including power generation (thermal and renewable) plants, industrial plants, and water/wastewater treatment facilitiesApplies knowledge of one-line drawings, elementaries, and wiring diagrams, equipment specifications (including transformers, MCC, switchgear, substation equipment), power plans, conduit plans, cable schedules, system studies and protective relay settingsApplies knowledge of power systems ranging from 120V to 35kV distribution and transmission systemsEvaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all electrical engineered systems or products for a projectEngages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formatsUtilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional models of electrical systems and provides markups for junior engineersPrepares and revises documentation in various electrical phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and detailsParticipates in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendorsParticipates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimatingParticipates in the full project cycle, planning phase through construction close-outAids in the development of the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedulePrepares and coordinates development the project specifications with construction documentsParticipates in quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peersAssists in the development of new standards and specifications for the electrical groupAssists with the development of proposal for smaller, less complex projectsOversees and manages multiple projectsParticipates in constructability reviewLeads one or more teams through all phases of project document productionChecks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and scheduleParticipates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thoughtVisits project sites, record construction progress and existing conditions, attend testing eventsApplies codes and standards which regulate and guide the industryUses AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Microsoft Word to assemble contract documentsContributes to the professional growth of othersQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering and designEIT certificationLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and presentation abilities in internal project settings with senior management team, external project stakeholders including senior client management leadershipExcellent interpersonal skills and staff supervisionRequisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of National Electrical Code and applicable energy codesStrong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specificationsExceptional knowledge of electrical systems, means, methods, materials, and industry standardsAdvanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to othersPractical field experience (survey, start up, commissioning, maintenance)Benefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceRetirement planVision insurance
