Summary  This position is a position within quality assurance at an SQF certified food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for verifying that ingredients, packaging, and non-food products are received and documented per written procedures.This role is responsible for the initiation of non-conforming material forms and supplier corrective action requests. The Supply Chain QC technician is also responsible for monitoring supplier performance and ensuring all supplier documents are up-to-date and available for review.Considering making an application for this job Check all the details in this job description, and then click on Apply.Essential Duties and Responsibilities  The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Rishi Tea reserves the right to change or amend the position and essential duties due to the needs of the business.  •     Responsible for upholding and promoting Rishi Tea's food safety and quality standards. •     Perform QC checks on all incoming ingredients, packaging, and teaware to ensure that all items conform to quality standards. •     Examine incoming paperwork, import certificates, and organic documentation to ensure that everything is assembled and filled in correctly. •     Recognize and correct errors, communicate the errors to management, and fill in the Corrective Action forms if necessary. •     Ensure all incoming materials are properly identified.•     Assist with training of receiving personnel, specifically in regard to inspection processes and GMP's. •     Responsible to know and understand all of Rishi Tea's quality control and food safety protocols and policies. •     Provide useful feedback to help improve quality control and receiving processes. •     Comply with all food manufacturing and facility safety requirements. •     Responsible for being aware of and following all food safety protocols as required by Rishi Tea's food safety management system, as they relate to this position.   Goals of Position: •     Ensure that all incoming products meet our food safety & quality control guidelines. •     Ensure that receiving records are completed correctly. •     Work to eliminate receiving errors.  Supervisory Responsibilities                                    None Sphere of Interaction  This position interacts and interfaces with the following roles and positions: •     Shift Supervisors, Warehouse and Receiving management, and Scheduling.•     Assist with training of receiving associates. •     Cooperate with the Compliance Dept. as required. •     Work with Management to communicate & implement improvements to compliance programs. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Education and/or Experience                Required: •      High School Diploma or equivalent •      Experience in a quality assurance or inspection position •      English fluency Preferred: •      Associates Degree in a food science or food production related field •      Food safety training and experience working with food products •      Experience working in a certified organic facility •      Experience in a food production-oriented environment•      Bilingual English/ Spanish An interest in tea and/or organic foods is preferred
