The Certification Engineer at AEVEX Aerospace is responsible for assessing the design, manufacturing processes, and operational procedures to ensure they meet safety, reliability, and performance criteria established by regulatory agencies, industry standards, and customer specifications.For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.Essential FunctionsPrepares and/or reviews project specific certification plans, compliance checklists, conformity inspection plans and certification summary reportsEnsures all technical data required to show compliance is reviewed, accepted, and approved by the appropriate technical DEROrganizes and tracks conformity inspectionsIdentifies potential risks associated with the design, manufacturing or operational aspects of the project and develops strategies to mitigate these risks to ensure safety and complianceWorks closely with the engineering team, regulatory authorities, and managementPrepares and/or reviews engineering reports, showing compliance to FAA certification standards and regulationsReviews technical documentation, including design plans, test reports, and maintenance procedures to ensure compliance to regulatory requirementsReviews and approved design changes from a certification perspectivePerforms other related duties as assignedQualifications and CompetenciesFamiliarity with FAA regulations, FAA orders, advisory circulars, and other guidance materialExperience processing FAA approvalsStrong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare and give presentationsProficient in MS Word and ExcelAbility to research guidance material and technical publications to determine solutions to project issues.Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving drawingsSecurity ClearanceAbility to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.AEVEX provides a full suite of comprehensive benefits, including a 401(k)-retirement plan, comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life insurance group coverage with a portion of the premiums paid by the company, professional development funds, and an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) with counseling, legal help, child and elder care support, among other benefits.
