S&C is a specialist in electric power switching and protection, providing products for the electric power industry since 1911.The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.The Manufacturing Engineer - Value Stream Engineering will lead S&C's development into a high-volume, world class manufacturer of products and technology that supply the world's largest machine ---- the electric grid. This is an opportunity to join a new high-profile team that will leverage Value Stream Mapping to drive towards strategic goals and lead the integration of design engineering deliverables and operations to meet SQDC targets and drive a flawless new product launch. This individual will be active on current manufactured products and on New Product Development processes, working closely with concept and design engineering groups, functional support teams, and production operations. The focus will be on developing and successfully executing a project plan to allow the business to meet SQDC product stability. This position is for a self-motivated, goal driven, engineer who is an effective leader, displays and aptitude in Value Stream Mapping and process design, can communicate effectively, and can successfully drive projects to completion. This position will report to the Manager - Value Stream Engineering and be located in our Franklin, WI location.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Fulfill role as a Manufacturing Engineer in the Value Stream Engineering department.Partner with Production Operations and front line leadership to drive strategic improvement in meeting 1-year, 3-year, 5-year targetsProvide guidance, expertise and influence on process, equipment, and production decisions to meet SQDC targets.Expert knowledge in Value Stream Mapping and Process DesignLead value stream engineers to develop current state value stream maps, identify opportunities for improvement and provide desired future state vision. Demonstrate ability to work in cross-functional / matrix reporting structure.Demonstrate knowledge in Automation, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and its influence on equipment and process designDemonstrate knowledge on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) including autonomous maintenance, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenanceDemonstrate knowledge and implement lean manufacturing principles for operationsDemonstrate knowledge in the Production Preparation Process (3P)Advocate for promoting automation solutions to traditional manual operationsCommunicate across the range of stakeholders to develop specifications, identify opportunities, and solve problemsDeliver a stable and capable process to Production Operations that meets targets for safety, quality, delivery, cost.To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical engineering1-3 years Value Stream Mapping experience3-5 years process design experiencePassionate about Lean ManufacturingExcellent communication skills, written and verbal, to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums.Microsoft Office
