This position requires and combination of technical expertise, leadership and strategic thinking to drive success in automation, electrical and instrumentation functions.Job Responsibilities:Lead all the Automation, Electrical and Instrumentation for the Viterra US & Mexico locations.Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.Develop and implement long-term strategies to enhance automation, electrical, and instrumentation systems in alignment with the organization's goals.Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization, driving efficiency, cost savings, and operational excellence.Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of electrical, automation, and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.Plan and execute system upgrades and modifications to meet changing business needs and regulatory requirements.Manage projects related to automation, electrical, and instrumentation from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and milestones.Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations for electrical and instrumentation systems.Promote and enforce safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex automation and instrumentation issues.Implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and disruptions.Help the Director develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.Performs other duties as required.Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:Minimum eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in Agri-Business facility maintenance and/or construction, including bulk material handling systems, at least five years of which have been in a supervisory/project management capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Proven experience in leadership and management roles within automation and instrumentation.Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and control systems.Project management skills and experience in leading complex projects.Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, ISA, IEC).Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Certified electrician or electrical engineer.Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence will be considered.Special Demands:Ability to travel up to approximately 35% of the time.
