Job Description:

The position involves the evaluation, design, development, and implementation of control system projects. The Project Engineer is expected to develop expertise with UCOS and FUEL-FACS software products as required to complete project assignments. May also be called upon to perform programming and configuration of third party industrial controls products such as PLCs, DCS', and HMIs.ResponsibilitiesReading and understanding technical project requirements. Contributing to project specifications. Specification and procurement of project materials. Specification and design of project drawings (not drafting). Assembly, configuration, and testing of systems. Participation in witnessed testing with other employees and customers. Assisting with system shipment. Participation in system installation, installation supervision, start up, commissioning, and site acceptance testing. Preparation of project documentation to support the activities listed above.Learn more about the general tasks related to this opportunity below, as well as required skills.QualificationsBachelor's degree in one of the following engineering fields: electrical, computer, mechanical, petroleum, industrial, chemical or 3-5 years' experience in a similar field. Base electrical and electronic principals required for electrical and controls engineering. Knowledge of discrete and analog wiring methods. Knowledge of I/O hardware layout and panel design. Working knowledge concerning the available types of and the application of control system instrumentation. Working knowledge of motor control centers, switch gear, starter circuits, and variable speed/frequency drives. Engineering design/drawing standards including P&IDs, flow sheets, logic drawings, loop drawings, electrical one lines, etc. Serial and network data communication standards and techniques. PC systems and software, including assembly and loading of PCs, use of application programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.), and possibly software application development. Troubleshooting of control systems and components based on the knowledge listed above. Good communication skills a must. Ability to be flexible to the demands of business which sometimes result in rapidly changing workloads and urgent deadlines.
