Learn more at .Job DescriptionABOUT AVERY DENNISON CORPORATION:WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:This engineering position provides an engaging environment, working in a fast-paced, global, cross-functional team to influence product development and customer use case decisions. The position works with RFID technology which is a critical link for enabling the Internet of Things, Block chain and Omni-Channel fulfillment. This role would work in the food, general retail, and logistics industries.The RFID Engineer designs and performs tests to ensure our RFID products meet customer requirementsResponsible for clear focused scientific rigor in evaluating RFID inlays with measurement equipment, various readers, printers and other RFID systemsProvides actionable data on new product development samples, prototypes and factory buildsThe RFID Engineer will will optimize test processes including automating with software scripting as neededResponsible for creating and updating test processes and softwares for accuracy and usefulnessResponsible for documenting and following written proceduresEnsures test processes meet cross-functional team members needs in a timely mannerThe RFID Engineer is accountable for product tests to develop strong value propositionsEvaluate new product samples, accept or reject based on data collected and requirementsConduct hands on applications testing creating test plans collecting data and articulating value and benefit of products across various market segmentsGenerate customer facing and internal reports and presentations with clear messagingThis role will ensure data integrity by characterizing RFID product in RFID encoding systems and developing encode parametersFormatting RFID media integration into RFID encoding systems collaborating with media design and printer engineering groupsCollaborate closely with other Avery Dennison groups including platform team system integrators and printer engineeringWork with document control systems responsible for updating critical spec documents for internal and customer useThis position has direct customer interaction to understand use cases and tagging requirementsTranslate customer requirements into design of experiments to define and recommend RFID tagging solutionsConsult with market development managers sales team and customers with application testing and product recommendationResponsible for the collection and analysis of customer and partner feedback on product samplesConduct training on product performance to our marketing and product line management teamsThe RFID Engineer works directly with several RFID hardware systems including readers printers handheld etc to ensure our products meet specificationsScientific evaluation of RFID systems reporting on fit for use and capabilitiesCreate a market view of systems and how our tags and competitors performQualificationsWHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE TEAM:Avery Dennison has a long history of being a market leader. It should include the following:Bachelor's degree with 1+ years engineering research scientific or related experienceSoftware engineering or development experience is preferredExperience with application engineering processes: collect data interpret data translate to real world benefits and outcomesExperience with RFID Wireless Communications protocols analog and power circuits and computer programmingExcellent analytical capability with the expertise to research and apply logical and scientific thinking to a wide range of technical problemsPrevious experience with system hardware/software setup and integrationDemonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situationsDemonstrated ability to thrive on a cross-functional teamSkilled with applicable computer systems such as Google Applications, Microsoft Office and function specific softwareStrong math skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsKeen interest in new technologies and their applicationsStrong written and oral communication skills and relationship building, to work as an advisor to clientsExperience with roll to roll manufacturing industrial printing and RFID manufacturing is preferredExperience with RF (radio frequency) or antenna theory and experience in high frequency ultra high frequency or microwave frequency is preferredExperience with Six Sigma Lean and other manufacturing improvement methods is preferredExperience with C, C++, C# .NET, Java, or similar as pertains to software and application development is preferredExperience with scripting test protocols using Python is preferredExperience with barcode scanner or controls equipment (PLCs) is preferredAdditional InformationAdditional informationWe grow strong talent through stretch opportunities only restricted by your interests.
