PeerSource is currently recruiting for an Application Field Engineer on a Direct Hire basis for our client in Tucson, AZ. Check below to see if you have what is needed for this opportunity, and if so, make an application asap.SummaryThis individual will be a pivotal support contact for clients utilizing a variety of fleet management products. Initially, they will be onsite at a variety of mine locations in and around the Tucson area (company truck will be provided). The ideal candidate has mine site experience and familiarity with mining heavy equipment, a strong technical background in application support, and the ability to be client-facing. Overall, this position plays a crucial role in driving product excellence, customer success, and business growth.ResponsibilitiesProvide Tier 2 technical support for IT applications and systems, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.Collaborate with IT and mining operations teams to identify and implement IT solutions that enhance safety and productivity.Develop and maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures, including training materials for end-users.Participate in the deployment of new applications and systems, including testing and user training.Ensure the company and end user are represented ensuring a pragmatic, viable product is released in a commercially sustainable manner.Provide pre-sales support and technical input for product development, and product training to internal stakeholders (i.e. Sales, Project Engineering, Training and Customer Care).Maintain customer relationships and support sales.Collaborate on documentation structure, issue logging, and process development.Required Skills3+ years of IT support and engineering experience with experience across Linux & Windows server administration, SQL (PostgreSQL) database administration, and IP networking.Strong background supporting and troubleshooting business applications, ideally down to the database level.Some exposure and experience within the mining industry is needed to ramp up on applications quickly.Ideal to have knowledge of Fleet Management, Collision Avoidance, and Fatigue Management system administration and support.Knowledge of Information System testing frameworks and tools.High motivation level, pro-active, flexible team player, customer focused.Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate product information and technical concepts effectively to a non-technical audience.Degree or experience in Engineering/Information Technology.Willingness to be a "road warrior" visiting client facilities onsite 4-5x/week, particularly for the first few months (company truck will be provided).No third parties.
