This position is located in Memphis, TN (you have to live there or relocate).For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.Position OverviewThe Construction Manager is responsible for the oversight of construction projects ensuring their progress and successful completion in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position will be responsible for the organization, implementation, and scheduling of the labor/crews for the construction of the project. This position reports to the Project Manager.Duties & ResponsibilitiesOversee and direct construction projects from conception to completionReview the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costsCoordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractorsSelect tools, materials, and equipment, and tracks inventoryReview work progress dailyRisk managementEnsure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.Responsible for management of aerial/underground personnel to include in-house and subcontractor crewsWork closely with Project Manager and other staff to plan, schedule, update and identify operational problems or obstaclesAccurately and effectively prepare written correspondence to the project teamAttend construction and customer meetings with Project ManagersReview and provide input into project plans with the Project and Engineering ManagersEstablish positive customer, management, and employee relationshipsManage personnel issues and determine if staffing needs are being met; recommend promotions or additional training, execute periodic employee reviews as determined by HREnsure all employees have a safe working environmentAble to meet and/or exceed project production goalsAll other projects or duties as assignedRequirementsProven work experience in construction managementAdvanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methodsExpert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standardsUnderstanding of all facets of the construction processFamiliarity with construction management software packagesAbility to plan and see the "big picture"Competent in conflict and crisis managementLeadership and human resources management skillsExcellent time and project management skills on a second-tier level desiredBachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related fieldFTTH large project construction management experience managing teams of subcontractors and in-house laborPrevious experience in aerial, underground, and splicing best practices including micro trench, HDD, missile, and fusion splicingAbility to travel/live near the project siteProven ability to manage customer demands and production/revenue targets under pressure with tight deadlinesMust possess computer skills and be able to aggregate digital production dailyPhysical RequirementsMust be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, work in inclement weather, stand, and drive for extended periods of timeMust have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areasMust be able to perform physical activities that require considerable and sustained use of your arms, legs, and moving your entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting standing, and handling materials up to 75lbsMust be able to wear required personal protective equipment
