As an "AI/ML driven ASIC Design and Implementation Automation Lead" in our MCU/MPU Engineering organization, you will work in a dynamic environment to develop methodology, flows and tools to improve efficiency and quality of results (power, performance, area, and quality) for SoC and IP development teams across the organization. You'll be leading a team of automation experts to architect, design and develop state-of-the-art AI/ML CAD techniques as a part of VLSI CAD SW tools and flows, by applying your AI/ML expertise, programming skills, and leveraging existing internal and external EDA SW tools and libraries.Do you have the right skills and experience for this role Read on to find out, and make your application.In this role, you will work in close collaboration with Architecture, IP design, SoC Design, Verification, Implementation and Design Enablement teams to drive new ways of working, improvements to current ways of working, addressing design quality challenges and continuously improve NXP Semiconductors design, verification and implementation flows. While developing these new ways of working, successful candidates will be working on actual designs and implementation to pilot and develop the automation.Successful candidates will utilize their extensive experience in AI/MLCAD Software development to identify organizational needs and deliver creative solutions based on those needs.This opportunity is within MME MCU/MPU 'Design Methodologies and Automation' organization, a cross-functional team responsible for developing methodology and automation to improve efficiency and quality of results for end-to-end design, verification and implementation of the IP, Sub-Systems and SoCs for the Automotive Processors and Advanced microcontrollers in NXP.The right candidate will be working in a fast-paced engineering environment, on a leading-edge advanced node technologies enabling automated building of exciting and complex SoCs.Job Summary:Work closely with Architecture teams, IP and SoC designers and SoC Implementation teams from multiple sites to develop new automation tools for leading edge SoC technologies serving multiple industriesThese automation applications span over design flow automation, design optimization, regression systems, design database, etc.Develop/manage multiple automations based on various SW languages and frameworksLearn, enhance, and support existing productsStrong AI/ML expertise, software and CAD background requiredCross functional aspects:In this role, the candidate will work with multiple NXP Engineering teams, including Architecture, IP & SoC design, verification and implementation functions, coordinate and drive groundbreaking initiatives and new ways of working.QualificationsBS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related disciplines with strong background in SW development10+ years of experience in developing complex SW projects, and hands-on expertise in programming using Python/C++5+ years of experience in AI and ML techniques (LLMs, CNN, RNN, and GraphNN) with experience of application to real world optimization problemsData structures, algorithms, and SW development for optimization problemsHands on experience in Unix/Linux, revision control (Git, BitBucket), SW development and debug toolsExcellent analytical problem solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsDesirable skills/experience:Strong understanding of design, layout, constraints (SDC, Clocks, CDC, RDC), Static timing analysis, Low-power, and Power-aware flows (UPF)Prior experience in VLSI CAD methodology and tool developmentGood understanding of HDL: System Verilog, Verilog, VHDL, front-end design, physical design and layout implementation/generation flows and toolsUnderstanding or prior experience with EDA tools for design, verification, DFT and implementationExperience with Design revision control (GIT, DesignSync) and MakeSplunk, Jenkins, LSF and CI/CD processJob location: San Diego, CA
