Job Description:

POSITION OBJECTIVE As the Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing load-bearing structures or structural elements for our client's construction projects. You will perform analysis of building materials for use in construction, develop blueprints or specifications for use during construction, and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations. You will spend your time working on initial creative designs for clients as well as redesigns based on changing project needs. This person will also interact directly with internal and external stakeholders ensuring project completion. This position will report directly to the President.Scroll down to find an indepth overview of this job, and what is expected of candidates Make an application by clicking on the Apply button.POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with project and sales team to effectively execute structural engineering design and delivery of structural implementation documentsStructural calculations, design analysis and preparation of construction documents for a wide variety of building structures and construction materialsPerform construction related services including shop drawing review, response to requests for information, and structural site inspections.Collaborate with architects and contractors on design and construction of building projects.May be responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirementsSKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED 5-7+ years of experience as a structural or civil engineerBachelor's degree in Civil/Structural EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) LicenseMaster's degree in Engineering a plusPossesses confidence in the execution and signing off of a variety of project typesExhibits exceptional abilities in managing internal and external stakeholder relationshipsProven experience working on a variety of projectsPossess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present projects to City Councils, Planning & Zoning Boards, and Commissions.CLIENT SUMMARY Founded in 1957, our client is a fourth-generation family-owned design-build general contractor located in Cookeville, Tennessee.
