Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.As a IS Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening our global Information Systems team, helping in executing Information Systems activities within all Information Systems process domains, as well as identifying, proposing and implementing IP IS Common Services, Electrification Installation Products (ELIP) in Memphis, Tennessee.In this role you will be part of a team applying broad Information Systems (IS) technology knowledge and expertise to aid global business needs and help solve difficult topics.This role is 3rd shiftYour responsibilitiesEnsures all daily scheduled computer production work is completed accurately; Daily monitoring of computer platformsTroubleshoot operational issues as 1st level support and notify appropriate support personnel for problem resolutionRecord all trouble ticket issues/incidents and provide follow up to customersProvide 1st level helpdesk support after normal business hoursEnsures all problems and issues reported to computer operations are recorded in the Incident reporting log for review or action by Operations or IT (Information Technology) Management1st level support of online business applications insuring 24x7 availabilityTalented and focused Computer Operator to monitor our computer systemsThe ability to analyze common issues and take steps to reduce or eliminate them, collaborate with other IT personnel and seek help from supervisors to develop relevant solutionsApplicants should be ready to quickly troubleshoot hardware and software problemsThe Computer Operator should also possess great verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to learn everything about our computer systemYour backgroundAssociate's degree in Computer Technology or equivalent experience and minimum 3 to 5 years experience in an Enterprise environment (Mainframe, I570, Sun, Intel and automated scheduling)Strong working knowledge of MIS Operating system and related subsystems (AS400, TSO, VPS, JES, CICS, TCPIP, TMON, Control-M, and Control-O)Scheduling knowledge is a plusExcellent customer service skillsWorking knowledge of IT terminologyGood written and oral communication skillsProfessional representation of Global Technology at different organizational levelsCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USMore about usABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas & Betts), is the number one manufacturer of electrification products in North America with a 125-year history of providing innovation and customer- focused solutions for connecting and protecting electrical systems, as well as a unique differentiated medium voltage offering.
