Job: Senior Engineering Technician 2D/3D CheckerLocation: Washington DCPermanent/Direct Hire Below covers everything you need to know about what this opportunity entails, as well as what is expected from applicants.Our client, a major manufacturer supporting the US Government, is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Technician 2D/3D Checker in their Washington DC location.The Senior Engineer Technician's purpose is to create functional design deliverables from engineering calculations and guidance and/or cost-effective detailed design ship production deliverables using functional design documentation. The Senior Engineer Technician assists in determining the technical requirements of the project and in defining resource requirements to achieve schedule commitments within the field of competence. Finally, the Senior Engineering Technician will assist manufacturing in resolving production-related issues.Job Duties: Create and develop 2D deliverablesDevelop 3D model of systems and components within the core competencySolve technical issues under the guidance of the department supervisionPlan, estimate, schedule and monitor assigned workTrack and report progress to commitmentsSupervise the work status of assigned resourcesFacilitate communications of issues and solutions within assigned departmentPrepare, check, and issue professional quality deliverablesInterpret contract requirementsDevelop contract change documents to support the project needsAbide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.May be required to lead or participate in product improvement projectsEducation & Experience: 2 Year Degree in the field of competence (or equivalent) or 10 years of equivalent experience.Experience using the primary design tools (AutoCAD 2D/3D, 3D ShipConstructor)5-10 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the field of competence.Six Sigma or LEAN training desired.
