One of the leading manufacturers of adhesives, sealants, and chemical products for the construction industry, is looking to expand their Process Safety Department with this newly created position!Read on to fully understand what this job requires in terms of skills and experience If you are a good match, make an application.The Process Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate Process Safety requirements, focusing on continuous improvement of the PS Management System to achieve safety, environmental, production, and quality targets within the polymer department.Responsibilities:Act as the subject matter expert for the location, ensuring PSM compliance and safety in polymer production systems.Coordinate activities with internal groups such as Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, EHS, Purchasing, and Shipping & Receiving.Engage with production personnel to address process safety/design issues and provide necessary training.Conduct Process Safety Reviews for the MOC program.Address and investigate Process Safety incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken.Note: This position is based in West Chicago, close to the Geneva/Aurora area.Requirements:Minimum Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.Specific education or training in Process Safety Management and Regulatory Management is advantageous.Strong chemical and process background with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial setting within the chemical industry, emphasizing Process Safety and practice of Process Hazard Analysis.Familiarity with batch and continuous processing preferred.Skills:Proficient in interpreting and implementing existing and new regulations.Understanding of compliance requirements and governmental audit processes.Familiarity with HSE Management Systems and internal/external audit procedures.Organized, reliable, and capable of producing rigorous work.Ability to produce results independently and collaboratively, taking initiative and adapting communication as needed.
