SUMMARY:This position's primary responsibility providing straightforward solutions to problems, and routine engineering support to operations and sales.This would include providing engineering drawings, All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDetermine project objectives and scope by analyzing goalsDevelop producible product designs with SolidWorks software - 90% Thermoplastic. 10% MetalsValidate product performance through various testing methods. Be aware of desired project schedulesUtilize a design team coordinating engineering, production, quality, and salesUtilize Company technical standards and design criteriaEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for assigned projectsManage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently.Appropriately communicate with Management on the status of projects in progressMaintain a safe and clean working environment while following policies, procedures, and regulations.Other duties related to company profitability.GENERAL SKILLSProficient in SolidWorks Design Software, Microsoft Office System (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Must be able to setup and manipulate complex Excel spread sheetsAbility to read and effectively communicate orally and in writing in EnglishMust be effective at resolving problems and handling all situations in a courteous and professional mannerMust be detail-oriented, organized, and proceed in a predictable manner.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEPlastics Mold Design Experience and Plastics Injection Molded Parts Design experience preferredQUALIFICATIONSComplex information and interpret relationshipsUnderstanding of manufacturing principles and processesCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSNone requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibility.FLSA CLASSIFICATION/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a salary-exempt position that is not eligible for overtime. A minimum of forty (40) hours a week is required.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Occasional travel (local, domestic, and international) may be required.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position is moderately sedentary with the majority of the work done on a computer in an office environment. Regular communication via e-mail and phone is necessary.
