Rest assured that all qualified applicants will be considered for employment without any discrimination based on race, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other factors prohibited by law.Is this the next step in your career Find out if you are the right candidate by reading through the complete overview below.The Electrical Engineer - Deep Sea Sonar Systems will design high-performance mixed-signal systems combining sensitive analog signal acquisition, digital signal processing, switching power systems, and high-power amplifiers to produce cutting-edge sonar imaging systems for both unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV) and underwater towed systems.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Key Responsibilities:Design deep sea imaging sonar systems.Collaborate in designing sub sea vehicles, including servo motors and digital acoustic acquisition. Choose communication protocols, and power distribution techniques to enable construction of a high-sensitivity signal acquisition system with excellent signal integrity and design flexibility.Design wide-dynamic-range, low-noise, wide-band amplifiers in the 30kHz to 2MHz region with high in-band and out-of-band noise immunity at hundreds of watts.Design isolated receivers in the 30kHz to 2MHz range with sensitivity at thermal noise levels.Design switching or linear power supplies in the 10W-300W range having tightly-controlled electrical noise spectra.Design FPGA and SoC circuits with DSP, high-speed data acquisition, and communications protocols (e.g Ethernet).Program FPGA's using a combination of Verilog and graphical design capture aids.Design microcontroller based embedded systems.Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.Maintain accurate engineering released documentation assuring proper follow up procedures of engineering change releases.Research, design, modify, and test manufacturing methods and equipment, conferring with production.Assure proper understanding and communication through marketing ready material that would contribute to product differentiation and growth.Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.Qualifying Attributes and Skills:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; Masters preferred.Minimum of two years of experience with embedded code and hardware design is preferred.Technical proficiency in Electrical CAD software (OrCAD, PADS, or Ki cad)Ability to work with technical staff and customers with varying experience levels.Circuit simulation, Embedded software, Filter design and signal processing experience.Write C, C++ and/or Python code for test and development.Willingness to assist with tasks, even when the work is out of the scope of responsibilities.Good knowledge of contemporary systems and techniques, Reliability Analysis, VA/VEAbility to optimize and document manufacturing processes.Ability to develop and capture design requirements then track them through product development such that compliance to requirements is demonstrated.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Estimate time required to execute a design involving hardware and embedded firmware development.Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.Strong problem solving and time management skills, a results-oriented work ethic, and ability to work alone with limited direct supervision.Klein Marine Systems is an equal opportunity employer with a generous compensation package:Healthcare Insurance provided: Health, Dental and Vision PlanElective deductions for Flexible SpendingCompany Paid Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with employer contributionPaid Vacation and Holidays9/80 Work Schedule
