Job Description:

Oversee all food safety and quality activities in a 24 hour operation and provide on-going technical support to Operations. Serves as PCQI and Lead SQF Practitioner.The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Responsibilities:• Oversee QC Lab activities at Decorating, Popcorn, and DC locations.• Assist in training new Quality Control Technicians.• Develop and execute SQF plans to achieve/maintain SQF Certification at all facilities and meet all of Signature Brands, LLC requirements related to quality and food safety programs.• Coach, train, provide feedback and conduct end of the season performance reviews for the QC Supervisors.• Oversee projects performed by Quality Control Supervisors.• Design and implement Food Safety Plans that comply with FSMA standards.• Lead the Food Safety team. Review all programs that support food safety and quality at least annually, as well as any reviews needed due to changes in equipment or processes. Communicate any changes to management.• Maintain pre-requisite quality and food safety programs that support the Food Safety Plan and SQF program.• Manage sampling/testing program for incoming ingredients/packaging, in-process materials, and finished products.• Ensure product quality meets specifications and monitor shift-to-shift processing variability.• Manage un-sellable and non-conforming inventory.• Coordinate annual GMP, Quality and Food Safety Training for all personnel.• Oversee micro and EMP testing process to verify compliance.• Assist with trouble-shooting process and product deviations in Operations.• Manage the Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement process for the manufacturing facilities.• Work with Sanitation to validate cleaning process and implement corrective actions.• Investigate and respond to customer and consumer complaints.• Review and approve process, equipment or material changes for day to day quality and food safety impacts.• Oversee monthly audit process of production and warehouse areas, written reports of deficiencies, and follow-up to ensure completion of work.• Provide guidance and leadership in situations where deviations have occurred, or a potential risk has been identified, related to food safety and/or quality attributes.• Coordinate and oversee the traceability program, including mock recalls.• Support monitoring of suppliers of product, packaging, co-packaging, and other related services.• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:• A 4-year degree in Food Science or related discipline• Certified PCQI• Experience with 3rd party Audit systems, preferred SQF• Familiar with test methods for microbiology and environmental sampling• Good communication skills• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP a plus• Working knowledge of food safety systems
