Job Description:

Position Summary:Responsible for special projects and related engineering assistance in support of manufacturing operations.Primary Responsibilities:Utilize engineering disciplines to trouble shoot shop floor activities and improve shop floor through putto reduce costsInteracts with Divisional Engineering on new jobs related to PPAP and process itemsCommunicates foreseen issues with Technical Manager for discussion and possible resolutionInitiates job specifications for new jobs and provides this information to the New Job SpecificationCoordinator for entry into the Electronic Specification SystemObtains and fashions samples for Boundary Boards and other process documentationCoordinates and performs initial trial runs on new processes and equipment. Notes and tracks issues forresolutionInitiates improvements to existing systems. Processes machinery and equipment to supportmanufacturing functions and operationsCreates or constructs bill of materials, process flows and process failure mode effective analysis (PFMEA)Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information formanagement decisionMay make customer visitations for job product related involvementInteracts with plant engineer, industrial engineering, quality manager and plant chemist on job relatedfunctionsMay work with raw material suppliers on quality oriented problemsKeeps abreast of technology improvements, recommends and justifies implementation of equipment and process establishing cost reduction improvementsWorks on continuous improvement programs and cost reduction projectsMaintains job records as requiredStatistically analyzes gathered data in test runs and makes recommendations based upon analysisMay work with laboratory in conducting material and product test and evaluationsWorks closely with shift supervisors and department managers to insure proper quality operations of materials and equipment on new job start"upProvides assistance to plant technical manager on assigned projectsMay, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this descriptionCandidates should take the time to read all the elements of this job advert carefully Please make your application promptly.Education and Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline with four years of process engineering experience, or equivalent combination of less educationAbility to focus and lead multi"disciplinary task teams and have previous experience in supervision in manufacturingExcellent knowledge of manufacturing parts and processesWill interact with all levels of management and must be able to communicate effectivelyWillingness and ability to travel, as necessaryWork Environment/Work Conditions:Professional Office EnvironmentMust wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floorTravel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when requiredEquipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
