Here, what you do matters.Job Overview: The Associate Civil/Structural Designer utilizes 3D modeling and drafting software in the production of basic civil and structural design drawings for Onshore Oil & Gas, LNG, and Renewables Industry projects including structures, piperacks, modules, foundations, etc. The work includes conceptual studies, FEEDs, estimates, detail design, and construction support. Responsibilities for Internal CandidatesKey Tasks and Responsibilities: Working under the supervision of designers and engineers in the production of basic civil/structural designUtilize 3D modeling software tools to model civil and structural itemsPrepare and check plan, section, and detail drawingsPrepare and check bulk material take offsUpdate / scrub drawings based on checker or engineering feedbackPerform basic drafting/design computationsProvide administrative support to the civil / structural lead designerAssist in the preparation of detail drawings and deliverables of high technical quality and consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of constructionGain experience in the following work areas:Design2D drafting3D drafting and/or model creationDevelop basic technical skills to complete assigned workBecome fully familiar with the Project Scope of Work, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address themPrepare Civil and Structural layouts from data generated by others, in close liaison with Civil and Structural Engineers and counterparts from other disciplinesEnsure that the work is carried out in accordance with McDermott requirements, Client and Statutory Design Codes, Standards, or Procedures with a particular focus on Health and Safety PoliciesDevelop 3D Models Qualifications for Internal CandidatesEssential Qualifications and Education: High School graduate with a diploma in Civil or Structural disciplines or equivalent experience Entry level to less than 3 years drafting and/or design Knowledge of 2D (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) drafting systems and other drafting softwareBasis of E3D and/or S3DFamiliarity with 3D design systems E3D or S3D would be an advantageProactive and willing to learnFlexible for business traveling/assignmentsAbility to learn and maintain design within our company methods and proceduresEffective communication skill and professional ethics.Basic understanding of CADD systems and drafting processesPreferred Qualifications and Education:Associate degreeWork experience in civil design, modeling & draftingProficiency in basic office softwareDrafting software knowledge (Autocad, Microstation, etc.)Modeling software knowledge (S3D, E3D, etc.)Posted: 4/16/2024 EA
