Today, we're driving the energy transition with more than 30,000 of the brightest minds across 54 countries.Here, what you do matters.Job Overview: General Description includes basic mechanical design and analysis of assigned deliverables in a MDR project including specific complex deliverables such as pressure vessels and heat transfer equipment. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and supervising vendor packages for equipment and mechanical systems. Maintains and promotes a focus on MDR's end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines. Ensures effective management of change. Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Perform FEED, Studies, and detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on more complex and demanding engineering tasksApply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignmentsPrepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and proceduresPrioritize and organize own work to meet deadlinesFocus on completing work within budgetsCommunicate and explain information clearly in straightforward engineering activitiesApply all relevant procedures, practices, and international standards according to their discipline (Static, Rotating, Package, and special equipment), and applicable as per the Project requirementsEnsure all relevant McDermott procedures, practices, and quality standards are implementedPerform mechanical calculations related to the respective discipline (pressure vessels preliminary calculations, rotating equipment pre-dimensioning, power consumption determination, etc.)Perform Mechanical data sheets and equipment specifications by process and project requirementsManage equipment requisitions by project requirementsEvaluate technical quotations, prepare queries, compile technical bid tabulations and recommendations, prepare purchase requisitions, and coordinate with Procurement to expedite vendor documentationPerform the drawings, documents, and inspection & test procedures review from the sellers and manufacturersCoordinate with other engineering disciplines the interdisciplinary review of supplier documentationAssist inspections during testing and evaluate test results of equipment, both if necessaryPerform Final inspections at the Manufacturer's workshop when required by the projectProvide technical inputs to subcontracts related to Mechanical engineering (Equipment erection, Equipment insulation installation, etc.)Ensure good coordination with all other concerned disciplinesExecute project closeout activities and communicate lessons learnedAssist the Mechanical lead with the Control changes and report deviations to the project management teamApply all the relevant HSE requirements and criteria in the engineering work and decisionsEssential Qualifications and Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's Degree is Preferred)3-7 years in oil and gas with major contractors or consultants predominantly performing detail designPreferably Registered Engineer in Training (ElT) or member of a professional engineering societyGood English in writing/speaking (B2 Level Quality-oriented and schedule-consciousLeadership skills and willingness to coordinate some discipline tasksMake recommendations to improve the work processGive support to construction, when necessary, from the office or at the siteFamiliar with the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicableKnowledge of many basic design techniques and analysis methodsPosition ID: 24001182
