Our extensive product assortment is available in every style, for every application, and fits every budget.Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.Our family of brands include Visual Comfort - the premier resource for signature designer lighting; Tech Lighting - the leading brand for modern decorative and specification grade, architectural lighting; Generation Lighting - combining legacy collections along with a new generation of well-known, leading designers that offers lighting at an outstanding value; and Monte Carlo - specializing in trend-inspired ceiling fan designs.SUMMARY:Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems for lighting products, such as electronic transformers, LED drivers, power supplies, dimmers and other controls applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics.QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is required. Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Related Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in an electrical/electronics environment. A minimum of 2 years full-time relevant experience in a production or engineering environment related to the lighting industry. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.HOURS: Monday through Friday, full-time with work hours designated by the Supervisor.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:Ability to work in a team atmosphere, promoting positive work relationships with both internal and external partners.Capacity to utilize effective time and personnel management skills working against multiple deadlines and competing objectives.Self-motivated, able to achieve goals and objectives without supervision.Understanding of electronic circuits related to lighting product power supplies.Knowledge of regulatory agency standards including UL, CSA, FCC.Proficient in the set up and use of electrical and electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM's, power meters, light meters, and network connected devices.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems.Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools, soldering iron, etc.Write reports or record data on testing performed or specifications to assist engineers.Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use.Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.Maintain working knowledge of current lighting testing and evaluation technologies by reading or attending conferences, workshops, or other training.Be present in the workplace to effectively elaborate and communicate amongst co-works and teams.
