Job Description:

Position Overview The Mechanical Designer-Drafter performs drafting functions for development of new and existing products using Autodesk Suite (AutoCAD) software. He/she may also be required to draft as-built equipment and to update Bills of Material (BOM). Candidates should be proficient preparing mechanical drawings, layout drawings, parts/materials lists and 3-D models. Be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. If you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information.Provide design and drafting support to other designers and engineers in the areas of mechanical design, documentation, assembly and installation.Prepare various mechanical drawings, 3-D models, structural steel support/framing drawings, weldment drawings, part detail drawings and Excel BOMs.Assist in selecting basic mechanical equipment, valves, conveyors, blowers, fans, materials, fasteners and coatings as defined in project specifications.Performs a preliminary self-check of drawings produced prior to submitting them to the project engineer for approval.Assists designers and engineers with shop and field modifications of equipment and "As Built" mark-ups.RequirementsAssociate's Degree in related field or equivalent and 5-8 years drafting experience in industrial mechanical engineering, or8-12 years of relevant drafting experience.Proficient in rapid equipment design/drafting using AutoCAD (version 2010+).Inventor and/or Solidworks experience is a plus.Design experience with Dust Collection Equipment (Baghouses, Cyclones, Ductwork, etc.), BulkMaterial Handling Equipment, Piping, Conveyor Systems, and Structural Steel is a major plus.Proficiency with MS Office Suite products.
