23-00532Project Engineer or Sr Engineer | Water ResourcesRemember to check your CV before applying Also, ensure you read through all the requirements related to this role.Title: Senior Water Resources EngineerLocation: Chicago, ILDuration: Permanent HireResponsibilitiesSenior Water Resources Engineer with the following responsibilities:Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of floodplains and floodways, including bridge and culvert crossings;Analysis of flood problem areas to identify problems, develop alternative solutions, and design recommended alternatives;Stormwater system analysis and design for municipal and roadway projects, including conveyance, storage, and stormwater quality best management practices. Includes design calculations/models, report and plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks;Design of soil erosion and sediment control practices;The candidate will manage other engineers and technicians to achieve completion of project plans, as directed by the Project Manager, but may also complete certain tasks independently;Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects;Review and check engineering work completed by others;Maintain positive client and vendor relationships;Mentor staff engineers;Will report to our Vice President - Water Resources.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering; Master's degree a plus;5-8 years of water resources experience;Illinois and/or Indiana Professional Engineer (PE);Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) a plus;Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multidisciplinary projects;MicroStation proficiency; AutoCAD experience a plus;Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models, including HEC-RAS and SWMM;Experience on municipal and/or highway drainage design projects.______________________________________________________________________________Title: Water Resources Project EngineerLocation: Chicago, IL or Indianapolis, IN or Crown Point, INDuration: Permanent HireWater Resources Project Engineer with the following responsibilities:Water distribution system analysis and water main design;Wastewater collection system analysis and sanitary sewer design;Pump station and lift station analysis and design;The candidate will serve as the technical lead on projects, reporting to the Project Manager, and will manage other engineers and technicians to achieve completion of project plans but may also complete certain tasks independently;Design tasks include calculations/models, plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks;Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects;Review and check engineering work completed by others;Maintain positive client and vendor relationships;Mentor staff engineers;Will report to our Vice-President of Water Resources.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;5 - 8 years of water resources experience, including the activities described above;Illinois Professional Engineer (PE);Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multidisciplinary projects;MicroStation proficiency; AutoCAD experience a plus;Experience with water distribution system and wastewater collection system analysis and design;Experience with pump and lift station design;Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, XP-SWMM, and other hydraulic models.
