(HSJ) is seeking a Door Hardware Consultant that has a minimum of 5 years of experience designing, specifying, and coordinating doors/frames/door hardware and electronic access control systems on complex projects. The ideal candidate will be certified by the Door Hardware Institute (DHI) and/or ASIS International (ASIS). If a candidate is not ASIS and/or DHI certified, then they must possess the necessary job experience/knowledge to obtain certifications.While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Full time position with benefits package including employer paid Health, Dental, Vision Insurance and 401K offered. With over 23 years of experience, HSJ delivers industry leading security and technology solutions to improve our client's operational efficiency, security, and customer/employee satisfaction. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, engineer, specify, coordinate, and manage mechanical and electromechanical doors/frames/hardware (Division 08) and electronic access control systems (Division 28) scopes on complex construction/renovation projectsPerform site surveys/inspections to assess and document existing conditions of doors/frames/hardware, access control systems and their supporting infrastructureReview and apply applicable building codes for specific projects to ensure designs for mechanical and electromechanical doors/frames/hardware and security (electronic access control systems) are code compliantFacilitate user group meetings with clients to understand their unique requirements Manage all aspects of physical security systems across multiple concurrent projectsCollaborate with clients, vendors, and all other disciplines to develop thoroughly coordinated physical security systems designsMaintain industry product knowledge and manufacturer relationships to provide added value to clientsAttend project coordination meetings with project team including architect, contractors, and client/ownerPerform construction administration services (Ex: inspections/RFI responses/submittal and shop drawing reviews) MUST-HAVE (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 5 years' experience designing and specifying access control systems and doors, frames, and hardware for large construction projectsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Acute attention to detail and deep understanding of building codes and their applicationsThrive in fast paced environment dealing with multiple concurrent clients and project teamsComfortable navigating between projects and capable of managing/prioritizing critical project workUp to 15% travel [Travel limited to 1-2 nights/trip]High School DiplomaPositive attitude with good collaboration skillsNICE-TO-HAVE (PREFERRED) QUALIFICATIONS:Door Hardware Consultant (DHC), Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC), Certified Door Consultant (CDC), and/or Electrified Hardware Consultant (EHC) Door Hardware Institute (DHI) CertificationASIS certification: PSP or CPP or similar certificationCSI certification: CDT or CCSBachelor's degreeProject Management Institute (PMP) or similar certificationExperience on healthcare and/or government construction projectsCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Salary based on experience & certificationsEmployer paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance401KPaid time off
