The position: Directly responsible for designing fixturing and automated equipment to aid in the assembly of trailers. These positions also work closely with Plants in order to anticipate and resolve issues. Develops manufacturing processes.Like the look of this opportunity Make sure to apply fast, as a high volume of applications is expected Scroll down to read the complete job description.WHAT YOU'LL DOKey Responsibilities Manufacturing Engineer Level I:Design Fixturing and automated equipment using SolidWorks Prepare Calculations on the proposed machine before completing technical drawingsFinalize designs and coordinate with machine shopsAssist with equipment assembly, startup, and trainingConducts plant visits to assist with project planning and process improvementResponsible for capital expenditure program (budgeting, project planning and implementation).Develops cost reduction, quality and safety enhancement projects/opportunities.Performs payback analysis, obtains quotes and oversees project installation.Improves manufacturing efficiency thru analysis and workflow planningDevelops manufacturing processes. Confers with equipment vendors on product design and capabilities.Develops corporate engineering strategies.Researches new equipment and processes for future implementation.Leads one to two Manufacturing Engineers (Level I-II).All other duties as assignedYOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)Education: A bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience or the equivalent combination of experience and/or education is required for this positionSkills:Basic knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical systemsAsset justificationIndustrial engineering skills such as work measurement, labor reporting, and plant layoutUnderstanding of building and maintenance contracts including liability issuesBasic knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing processesComputer skills including MS Office and SolidWorksAnalytical analysis and problem solving skillsUnderstanding of compliance regulations and codes.Travel: OccasionalPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
