Technical Writing Coordinator - Contractor The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.Job SummaryThe Technical Writing Coordinator will support the creation of equipment documentation for the Controls Engineering team. The technical documentation would be associated with lab, manufacturing, and field hardware and software testing, operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance. This position will contribute to the on-time delivery for project and requisition executions in a team focused environment. In this role you will manage the documentation requirements and plan the execution and release of all associated material. Additionally, receive and review field redlined material and update and release the material, as necessary.Job ResponsibilitiesProficient in clearly, concisely, and accurately understanding and documenting test steps for testing and using equipment for optimal performance by creating:Test reportsTest proceduresTroubleshooting documentsTraining materialTechnical operations manualsChecklistsAbility to design documentation that is easy to use and navigateCreate and revise templatesCreate standards and process maps/ plansCapable of running and redlining test procedures to capture discrepanciesAbility to work with cross-functional teams to identify hardware required to support necessary testingAbility to explain complex technical concepts in a way that is easy for non-technical audiences to understandAbility to quickly grasp the subject matter that the test procedures are being executed onAbility to work within a PLM system to create, review and/or release documentationAbility to coordinate the release of documentation with the correct resources queued for document reviewProvide timely communications about significant issues or developments Capable of performing executed procedures to validate accuracyQualifications/RequirementsAssociates or Bachelor's Degree or 3yrs of applicable experienceProficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to document technical proceduresCapable of learning new technical concepts quicklyDesired CharacteristicsProduct knowledge of Oil and Gas Rigs, both Onshore and offshoreBasic knowledge of:PLCsCode - C, C++, UNIX/LINUX, Java Script, HTML5, PythonDatabase - MySQLCloud Services/ Other - AWS/Azure, GiTProtocols - Modbus, Profibus, OPC/OPC-UASiemens S7-1500 and WinCC OAHardware componentsReading electrical schematics & wiring drawingsReading P&IDs (Piping and Instrumental Diagram)Ability to work in a team environment on short- and long-term projectsGood interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a focus on time deliveryExcellent time management skillsQuick learner of new concepts, ideas, and processesAdditional InformationMust be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa statusNo relocation assistance providedLocationHouston, TX (JFK)
