The AI CAD Application Engineer will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing product development at Fortune Brands Innovations (FBIN). You'll be at the forefront of the AI revolution within CAD, designing and deploying cutting-edge solutions to streamline the process and reduce design times. Imagine developing features like automatic 3D model generation from sketches, freeing engineers to focus on higher-value tasks. This is your chance to become a leader in the field of AI-powered CAD development and collaborate with a passionate team of engineers, designers, and AI experts.Responsibilities:Use AI and machine learning techniques as applied to CAD problems in developing innovative solutions (such as automatic 3D model generation from 2D sketches or point clouds) to reduce effort and increase productivity across Product Development.Collaborate with external CAD application developers and suppliers to help shape AI capability in CAD applications used within FBIN.The scope of work includes implementing, testing, and deploying AI models and algorithms to enable more efficient creation of CAD models. The information within these applications includes, but is not limited to, 3D geometry generation from sketch/photo/text prompt, auto variant geometry generation, standardized drawing creation, dimensioning schemes, assembly placement of components, and auto bill of material variant generation.Interfaces with Product Development, Engineering, Industrial Design, and Manufacturing Engineering in the development and application of practical AI CAD applications.Continuously improve upon AI CAD efficiency toolset to develop new methods and approaches oriented towards increasing engineering effectiveness and improving end-user performance.Utilities best practices pertaining to training and organizational awareness for rollout of new AI CAD tools and practices. Reinforces and governs CAD community's usage of tools and standards through regular user touchpointsAssists with distribution and rollout of new AI CAD updates and enhancements. Works collaboratively with IT Desktop Support to create robust installation scripts for all AI CAD related tools. Thoroughly regression tests new builds and updates to AI CAD related tools.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related areas.1-3 years of relevant experience.Deep knowledge and keen interest in various techniques in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence.Excellent understanding of design, CAD, optimization, and simulation technologies.Skill in engineering data management within a PLM environment.Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to persevere to reach objectives for challenging problems.Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple geographic locations, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated passion for learning, adoption of new technology, and independent decision-making.Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to deal with fluctuating priorities; be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision.Additional InformationAt Fortune Brands Innovations, we support the overall health and wellness of our associates by offering comprehensive, competitive benefits that prioritize all aspects of wellbeing and provide flexibility for our teammates' unique needs.
