We are a great company.The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.We are seeking a Resident Engineer (CM Engineer) to join our Idaho Falls, ID team! Come join us! Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: General project management and inspection on highway, industrial, and commercial construction projects including materials testing.Document construction inspections to ensure projects are in conformance with contract plans, permits, and regulations.Interpret data, identify problems, and develop solutions using sound engineering judgment and guidelines on complicated transportation projects.Effectively manage projects, resources, and staff while providing expert technical guidance in construction material testing across diverse projects "” in both public and private sectors "” and ensure strict adherence to applicable guidelines.Support business development activities by fostering and maintaining long-term client relationships and developing a client base for providing all Atlas services including identifying additional business development opportunities.Supervise and lead geotechnical support during construction of geotechnical elements, including shallow and deep foundations, grading, utility trenching, and other earthwork operations.Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and governmental personnel, ensuring that all geotechnical concerns are addressed comprehensively.Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians to foster their professional development.Play an active role in professional associations.Manage projects during construction to ensure quality and scope is being achieved. Oversee personnel daily to ensure inspections, test results and client communications are in line with our proposals and client requirements.Adherence and enforcement of Atlas policies, employee manual, quality management system and other relevant systems and procedures is required.Review and sign reports generated by technicians and inspectors.Return calls or email within a reasonable time period.Maintain a professional image.Complete all required safety reporting.Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering Minimum 5 years of experience in construction engineering practice with an emphasis on large infrastructure or geotechnical design and analysis, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision.The successful candidate should be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Idaho.Local experience and familiarity with the local engineering practice.Technical Requirements:Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.Extensive civil engineering background including a strong fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical engineering and DOT construction.Experience in construction oversight as a project manager or resident engineer of DOT projects.Familiarity with ACI, ICC, ITD and AASHTO standards, and guidelines.Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale infrastructure projects and manage teams of testers, inspectors, and engineers.Other miscellaneous qualities: Work location can be in Idaho Falls or Pocatello Idaho.Experience and well-developed relationships with ITD and LHTAC.Limited travel in SE Idaho may be required.Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.Who We Are:We strive to be the most sought-after infrastructure and environmental solutions company, known for our unique, values-driven approach and brought to life by the industry's most exceptional people.Atlas provides professional testing, inspection, engineering, environmental and consulting services from more than 100 locations nationwide.
